W.A.L.T Write an information report that informs the audience.
Success Criteria
I know I will be successful when….
- I use an opening statement that explains the subject of the report.
- The opening statement is followed by sentences that describe the event; what you saw, what you did, how you felt, what you learnt.
- Each paragraph focuses on a different aspect of the topic; travelling, the beach, the lagoon walk, playground.
- A general statement about the topic usually rounds off the report.
A sunny day at Spencer Park
Last week on Friday, the class went to Spencer park. When we got there we had a little play on the playground. Then we went on the walk around the Lagoon to get to the bird hut. The hut had a big gap that you can see through when you look for birds. Then we saw a horse that did droppings while it was walking.
Next we went back to the spot to have morning tea and then we went to the beach to get some sea treasures. For art, we are doing a sculpture that is made of shells ands stick and coconut shells. When we started our Sculpture, I made a musket that got sold to New Zealand for our land. I made the musket to bring back memories from that day. A musket was the first gun to be on this land in New Zealand. I made it for my mum’s dad that had passed away.
Then we came back to school and waited until the bell rung to go home.
